LENA: IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD; Wednesday, August 3, 1966, page 2: Deaths - MRS LENA CLEMENTS, 79, died Tuesday afternoon in Pontiac where she had lived the past three years. She was born in Ionia July 7, 1887. A former bookkeeper for Stevenson's department store in Ionia, she was a member of First Christian church and life member of Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry, and daughter, Marie. She leaves one niece, Adah Shelly of Pontiac. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sparks-Griffin funeral home in Pontiac. The body will arrive in Ionia late Thursday for services Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Stone-Kauffman funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Rev. James Kendall will officiate. IONIA DAILY SENTINEL-STANDARD, August 9, 1966, pg. 2: Deaths - MRS. Rev. James Kendall officiated at the funeral in Ionia. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Bearers were Frank Judevine, Harry Young, Lloyd Snyder, Harold Anslow, Raymond Coon and Bernard Sible. Attending from out of town were Adah Shelly and Ethel Wooden of Pontiac, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith of Kalamazoo.
