Funeral Held Saturday. Funeral services were held from Central Methodist church here Saturday afternoon for Oscar Clemons who died Wednesday night at the U. of M. hospital in Ann Arbor where he had been for treatment the past two months. The Rev. Samuel S. Cox, pastor of Calvary United Brethren church, officiated, and interment was made in Lakeside cemetery. Mr. Clemons had been a well known and highly respected resident of Campbell, Sebewa, and Odessa townships practically all of his life. He had been in gradually failing health for several months. Among those from a distance to attend the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rosenberger, Titus Studt and Cyrus Hansberger, all of Grand Rapids; Otto Clemons of Elk Rapids, Mrs. Vern Straight of Big Rapids, Ben and Rolland Straight of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. John Bachelder of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Etta Blough of Hastings, Austin Rosenberger, Sam Stahl and Mrs. Elmer Miller of Clarksville, S. W. Custer and wife, Mrs. Ira Sargeant, Leonard Lott and son Will of Elmdale. Obituary Oscar Clemons was born in Ontario, Can., on August 25, 1861, and resided there till 10 years of age, when with his parents he moved to near Clarksville in Campbell township, Ionia, county, Michigan. In 1875 he was married to Miss Emma Jackson. To this union three children were born, two of whom passed away in infancy. About 30 years ago he and his wife and daughter moved to Sebewa township and then later to Lake Odessa. Since the death of his wife, about 10 years ago, he has made his home with his daughter Mrs. Arthur Klopfenstine at Eagle Point, near Lake Odessa. He leaves to mourn, one daughter, two grandsons Glendull and Gaylord, a great- grandson, one sister Mrs. V. A. Straight at Big Rapids, two brothers, Amos, near Hastings, and Otto at Elk Rapids, and a host on other relatives and friends.
