Lyle A. Clifford, of Ionia, age 88, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.

He was born on May 17, 1921 in Ronald Township the son of Sam and Lena
(Phillips) Clifford.  Mr. Clifford lived in the Ionia/Palo area most of his life
and retired from the City of Ionia after 27 years of service.  He enjoyed
fishing, camping, gardening, woodworking, playing cards and socializing with his
family and friends.

Surviving are his children, Jane Clifford of Ionia, Corinne Honsowetz of Lyons,
Richard Clifford of Saranac and Harold Clifford of Saranac; grandchildren,
Kathryn (Anthony Juddvalkis) Honsowetz of Chicago, Ill., James Clifford of
Saranac, Jason Clifford of Ionia and Gina Clifford of Belding; great-grandchild,
Hailey Clifford and 2 nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife,
Katherine (Parker) Clifford and daughter, Mary Ellen Clifford.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at the
Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich Street, Ionia with interment following
at Tuttle Cemetery, Ionia.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home
from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
