November 21, 2025 Excerpts from Ionia Obituary JAMES DONALD CLOVER Died November 20, 2025-age 89 of Ionia. BornJuly 8, 1936 in Livingston County, Illinois, son of Donald & Gladys (Lower) Clover. Jim married Marilyn Greenhoe on July 31, 1959, in Ionia. Together they raised two daughters,Jamie & Brenda Graduated from Ionia High School in 1955, completed the MSU Dairy Short Course & served in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss in Texas for two years. In 1965, Jim & Marilyn purchased the farm on Bennett Road, where they raised crops, hay & beef cattle. He established a carpet cleaning business in 1972, which he owned & operated for more than25 years until his retirement. He was an active member ot Berlin Center Country Church,Worked alongside neighbor Craig Denny on his vegetable farm & in the farm marker, & stayed closely connected with his high school classmates. He loved being outdoors, working on machinery, & caring for his land & animals. Jim loved people, where ever he went he would run into someone he knew. A gifted conversationalist, he enjoyed visiting with others, a strength he honed by completing a Dale Carnegie Course in effective speaking. Additional Comments: Army Vietnam Vet.
