The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, January 4, 1945
Lucy Ellen Clute, 77, lifelong resident of Ionia county, died at her home in 
Berlin township Wednesday evening after an illness of several months.  She was 
born in a home located at Harter street and Lincoln avenue and was the 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel Clute, Ionia pioneers. 

Surviving are three brothers, Monroe Clute of Hartford, Conn., Robert Clute of 
Grand Bay, Ala., and Richard Clute, who resides in the old homestead on the 
State road.  A fourth brother, W. K. Clute, died two years ago in Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the 
Bradley funeral home.  The Rev. Dwight M. Kitch, pastor of the First Methodist 
church, will officiate and burial will be in the family lot in Highland Park 
cemetery.
