Cobb, 87, died at his home, 215 Front street, Belding, Wednesday morning at 12:30. He had been ill since Friday. Mr. Cobb was the son of Joseph and Lovina Cobb, early settlers in Otisco township. He was born October 6, 1860. Before his death Mr. Cobb was a retired farmer and farmer grocery man. He was in partnership with Will Bricker and his brother Silas Cobb. He was later steward for the Belding silk company’s three dormitories, Ashfield, Belrockton, and Richardson. He was a member of the Central Methodist church in Belding. Mrs. Cobb preceded him in death in November 1947. They had just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary before her death. Since then he has been cared for by Mr. and Mrs. James Antcliff who moved into his home. He is survived by a nephew, Knott Cobb of Ionia and two nieces, Mrs. Allen Tuttle of Belding and Mrs. Allen Russell of Lowell. Funeral services will be Saturday from the Fitzjohn funeral chapel at 2 p.m. The Rev. J. Ray Gillham will officiate. Burial will be in the Belding Mausoleum.
