Lovina Curtis was born in Geneseo, N.Y., May 28, 1839, and died at her home in Otisco, Mich., February 2, 1902, age 62 years, 8 months and 4 days. She was united in marriage to Joseph Cobb. There were born to them five children, three boys and two girls, one of whom died in infancy. They moved to Michigan in the Sixties and resided on the farm at Easton for about six years. From there they moved to the township of Orleans where they lived about ten years and from thence they moved to Otisco where they had lived about twenty four years. In her younger days she united with the Methodist church, but in the later years she has not had the privilege of attending devine services as much as she desired. Her nature was quiet and retiring but her life was exemplary. She was a loving wife a fond mother and a true friend. Her health has been poor for the last few years but her last sickness was but a few days. Her trials are over and her work is ended. In peace we lay her away to rest. She leaves a husband, three sons and one daughter, besides her sister Mrs. Mary J. Whiting of Delevan N.Y. and three brothers who reside in Michigan, all of whom were present to pay their last farewell. The funeral services were held from the home a short distance west of the city, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. A.O. Carman officiating, and the burial was in the Otisco cemetery.
