Belding Banner – Wednesday, 24 December 1913
Alfred Cobb, was born in New York, Dec. 24th, 1847 and died in Belding, Dec. 
16th, 1913, age 66 years, 11 mos. 25 days.  Forty years of his life was spent 
in Ionia County.  He lived repeatedly both in Belding and Ionia.  Deceased was 
married when young to Miss Maggie Jane Mattocks and to them were born two 
children, Eugene, at whose home he died, and Mrs. Blanche Vincent of Ionia.  
Mr. Cobb was a carpenter by trade was actively engaged in the work until about 
two years ago.  He leaves a widow, the two children, and a host of other 
relatives and friends to mourn his loss.  His two brothers John and Joseph 
preceeded him a few years ago.
