The Rev. Earl Kneebone of Ionia officiated. According to Deputy Leo Geller and Coroner Harry Myers, who investigated, Cobb was instantly killed as he headed toward Ionia on M-14. He was located about in the center of the right hand lane when a truck, driven by C. J.? Goodsell of Lansing, came upon him from the rear. The driver told the investigators that Cobb’s bicycle had no reflectors on it and that he didn’t see the man until he was almost upon him, due to the lights of an oncoming automobile. The truck did swing over at the last minute, however, with the front corner of the rack striking the back of the victim’s head. Deputy Geller and Coroner Myers decided not to hold the driver after learning the story. The deceased, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cobb, was born in Ronald township, March 27, 1882. He was educated at the Case school and at Ferris Institute. In 1905 he left for South Dakota, returning in 1909. Since that time he had resided for several years at the home of a brother, Clarence, in Berlin township. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge. He is survived by three brothers, Clarence, of Berlin; Lee of Fowler; and Roy, of Ann Arbor. There is one sister, Mrs. Marion Hanks of Lansing, and an aunt, Mrs. Ida Knagg of Palo.
