LaVern D. Coble, 71, of Saranac, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed 
away March 30, 2011 in Saranac. He was born Dec. 6, 1939 in Berlin Twp., the 
son of Orville and Myrtle (Fiers) Coble.



LaVern married Margaret Routsaw Nov. 21, 1959 in Grand Rapids. Her served in 
the Navy and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Saranac. LaVern 
worked for Fischer Body for 29 years and farmed all his life. He had no greater 
joy than spending time with his family.



LaVern is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret Coble of Saranac; 
children, Douglas Coble of Kansas, Melinda (Kevin) Theisen of Saranac, Sean 
(Emily) Coble of Lowell, Charise Coble and Mike Davis of Saranac and Susan 
(Dan) Lauer of Saranac; grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Jessi, Nick, Kaitlyn, 
Malorie, Paige, Elle, Jared, Rebekah, Hannah, Margaret, Jacob, Samuel, 
Gabrielle, Elijah, Joseph, and Veronica; great grandson, Nathan; brother and 
sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Greta Coulson and 
Joyce Mercer.



Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in 
Saranac with Father Victor Kynam officiating. Rosary will be prior to service 
on Monday, The family will receive friends and relatives 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. 
Sunday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.



Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in LaVern’s name to West 
Michigan Hospice.
