Cochrane, 72, died Sunday in Harper hospital, Detroit, where he was taken following a series of heart attacks suffered recently. He had many years been associated with the American Steel and Wire company and had retired from active work about three years ago. He resided in Detroit with his sister, Jane, a teacher. Funeral services will be attended Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock from the Hamilton funeral home. Mr. Cochrane spent his youth in Ionia. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Cochrane and their home was on East Washington street, the former Charles A. [unreadable] property, now owned by William Schlernitzauer. Roderick Cochrane with his sons, Roderick and Allister, conducted the Cochrane and Miller furniture company, having the contract at the State House of Correction now the Michigan Reformatory and warehousing their product in what is now the Ypsilanti Reed building on West Main street at the Peer Marquette overhead. Surviving are his sister, Jane, and brother, Allister, of Washington, DC. K.R. Smith, a life-long friend of Mr. Cochrane, and Mrs. Smith left Monday for Detroit to attend the services.
