COCHRUN - ESSEXVILLE - Ezra W. Cochrun, 84, a longtime Ionia resident, died Wednesday in the Bay Medical Care Facility in Essexville. He was born on March 3, 1895, in Ohio, the son of Harvey and Almeda Carnahan Cochrun. He married Beryl Kehren on Aug. 14, 1927, in Carson City and they lived in Carson City before moving to Ionia in 1953. Mr. Cochrun was a foreman for Consumers Power Company for 40 years, from 1925 to 1965. He was a member of the Carson City Lodge F. & AM No. 306. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Raymond of Saranac, Robert of St. Johns and Donald Keheren of Lansing; one daughter, Marilyn Grigg of Essexville; two sisters, Goldie Mulnix of Ionia and Ella Rheinhart of Muir; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Leddick Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Nixon of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Carson City Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church and the Bay Medical Care Facility." Cochrun of Ionia were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Leddick Funeral home with the Rev. Robert Nixon of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Organist was Mrs. Josephine Barna. Full Masonic services also took place with Fay Hall of Palo and the Carson City Masonic Lodge officiating. Committal services took place at the funeral home with burial later at the Carson City Cemetery. Representatives of the state and Ionia County Cancer Society and employees of Consumers Power attended the services as a group. Following the services a luncheon was served to family and friends at the First Presbyterian Church."
