SARANAC ADVERTISER, Saranac, MI, Thursday, November 28, 1968: "A Tribute - In the passing of our good friend, Edith Cochrun, it is not only I but there are many who will miss her kindly manner, so helpful in so many ways. We will be missing her little poem in each issue of THE ADVERTISER as each was a sermon in itself. I wish to share with the readers one she wrote and sent to me in a time when I was greatly grieved: "A Comforting Thought - Our Master walked in his garden viewing the flowers large and small, Smiled as he gently touched them, gave the same loving care to all. Then said with mixed emotions, alas, why must it be so? Some flourish in beauty and splendor, others so willfully grow. He paused and picked a wee blossom, chose another in beauty's full bloom, Oh why do you do it Master? They need not be taken so soon. Be patient, my child, was his answer, my reasons I cannot explain, In the garden of eternal beauty, they will be blooming again. For each has a given mission, not counted in days or years--- A garden reflecting beauty, yet bathed in worry and fears. Unseen as I walk among you, a helper to all I would be. So grieve not when in my wisdom I take them away with me." Hoping many of her friends will like this comforting thought she put into words for us. - Hazel Tower" File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/c/cochrun5123gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/mifiles/ File size: 4.4 Kb
