Coe, an old pioneer of Sebewa, died at his home in that township Saturday, March 25, of pneumonia. He was born in Vermont, July 22, 1824. In his teens he came to Indiana where he was married and lived until ???? when he came up through the wilderness into Michigan and settled in Sebewa, which was then nearly a solid body of woods. ?? acres which he settled upon was all timber, from which he build his log house where he was living at the time of his death. He subdued to cultivation his farm, and at his death was in good circumstances. His good wife passed to the better land ?? years ago. To their union was born five children, all living and married, as follows: Alfred H., of Rox??, Judson E., of Ionia; Alden J. and George W. of Sebewa, and Mrs. ?? Erdman, of Danby. Funeral was held Monday, conducted by Rev. Skentelbury. The interment was in the Baptist cemetery, where he was laid beside his wife.
