Coe, 73, died at his home in Sebewa at 9:30 Sunday morning after being in poor health for one year. He was the youngest son of William and Mary Coe and was born on April 5, 1864 on the farm where he has always resided. August 21, 1889 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Belle Smith. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Leona Westbrook of Muir and Mrs. Marian Karcher of Odessa, and five grandchildren. One son, Wayne, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held from Sebewa Baptist church Tuesday at 2 p.m. Subsequent Publication: The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, September 13, 1937 Funeral services for George W. Coe, who died Sunday a.m. September 5, were held at the Sebewa Baptist church Tuesday, September 7. The floral offerings from the community and friends were a token of respect to him, who had spent all his life among them on the farm on which he was born. He was always kind and thoughtful of everyone with whom he was associated. He is survived by his wife, who was Elizabeth Smith; two daughters, Mrs. Mark R. Westbrook, of Ionia, and Mrs. Rex Karcher, of Odessa, and five grandchildren. The bearers were younger man of the neighborhood, Allen Cross, Howard Cross, Richard Sargeant, John Sargeant, Dale Shettterly, and Clifford Poff. Those from away to attend the funeral services were Dr. and Mrs. G. E. Mighan, Charles Mighan, Mrs. George Mighan and Narice of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Smith, Madison, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Thomas and Stephenia Jo, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Steele, Kalamazoo; Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Tuttle, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tuttle, Belding; Miss Alberta Warnhoff, Harold Warnhoff, of Ann Arbor. Rev. Storms, of Lake Odessa, officiated, and Mrs. Clyde Smith played several hymns as mourners entered and lef the church. Burial was at the Sebewa Baptist cemetery.
