The remains of Fred Cohen, aged 52 years, who died at Battle Creek, on 
Saturday, July 9, arrived in this city Monday evening and were taken to the 
Miller & Harris undertaking parlors from where the funeral was held Tuesday 
afternoon at two o’clock Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating and burial was in Otisco 
cemetery.  Mr. Cohen was a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clanchey, having 
married Miss Augusta Clanchey, their daughter, in 1896.  Mrs. Cohen died in 
1902.  A daughter, Mrs. F. B. Jarvis, of Homer, survives.  Mr. Cohen had been 
for more than 30 years employed as a guard at the state hospital at Ionia.
