Cohler, 84, of 460 Peck, Galesburg, Ill., died on Monday evening at St. Marys hospital in Galesburg following a two week illness. A retired musician he was a violinist, playing with several philharmonic orchestras including the one from Chicago. He was born July 24, 1884, in DePere, Wis., moving to Ionia in 1942, where he made his home until 1966 when he went to Illinois. He was a member of the Ionia Seventh Day Adventist church. April 29, 1908 he was married to the former Christine M. Meert in Green Bay, Wis., and she died in 1961. Survivors include a son Wilbert G. of Spencer, Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. Harold Schrader and Lila Mae Cohler both of Galesburg; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Anna Boyer of Green Bay. Funeral services will be on Thursday in Galesburg. Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Easton cemetery with Pastor Clarence E. Larson officiating.
