Mr. Cole was ill with pleurisy since Thursday, but his condition was not considered critical. He had slept much of the time Tuesday, and before retiring Mrs. Hall, his niece, made him comfortable for the night. Wednesday morning upon arising, Mr. Hall went in to see how he was feeling and found him dead on the floor. Undertaker Arthur Fitzjohn of Belding was called and stated he had probably passed away between 4 and 5 o’clock. He was almost fully dressed and apparently had just gotten up, the pleurisy striking to his heart. Mr. Cole was never married, and was the last of a family of five children. For the past eight years he had lived alone in a house on the Louis Hall farm. The only surviving members of his family being 5 nieces and 2 nephews. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
