Ionia Daily Sentinel, 5 Jan 1918

Vernon B. Cole committed suicide in Jackson, it is supposed to avoid the draft.
 Cole was a linotype operator who at one time operated the linotype at the Lake
Odessa Wave office.  He was buried in Portland cemetery.
