Ionia County News
Mrs. Maggie Cole died at the Taylor Convalescent Home, W. Main St., Monday 
afternoon May 8 after a long illness.

Maggie Carpenter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Carpenter, was born in 
North Plains, Sept. 21, 1869.  In 1899 she was married to Amos Cole of 
Newaygo.  After the death of her husband in 1925, she lived for several years 
with a brother, Ralph Carpenter of Ionia Township.  Two years ago she came to 
Ionia to live.

She is survived by a son, Ralph, of Ionia; a brother Ralph Carpenter, Lowell, 
and a sister, Mrs. Laura Squires of Muskegon.

Rev. Howard Smith officiated at the funeral service held Wednesday afternoon 
from Stone-Kauffman Funeral Home.  Burial was in Higbee Cemetery.
