PORTLAND- Michael James Cole of Portland, MI passed away on Monday, August 19, 
2013 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Lake Odessa, MI.

Michael is survived by his parents, James and Cynthia Cole, sister, Sarah Ann 
Cole, and his loving girlfriend of 6 years, Allison Trierweiler, all of 
Portland, MI. Michael's extended family includes many aunts, uncles, and 
cousins from Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Oklahoma.

The Cole Family is formerly from Guilford, VT, and Greenfield, MA. Mike was an 
exceptional son and a loving person. He enjoyed many sports and activities with 
his family and friends, including tennis, swimming, kayaking the Grand and 
Looking Glass rivers, waterskiing, snowmobiling, duck hunting, fishing, and 
table tennis. He was a two year captain on the Portland boys varsity tennis 
team. Mike's passion for waterskiing on Jordan Lake was introduced to him at an 
early age at the family cottage on Stone Pond in Dublin, New Hampshire. He will 
be so dearly missed for all his kindness, generosity, and good nature. Mike was 
looking forward to the future and attending Ferris State College this fall. He 
was a 2011 Portland High School graduate and 2013 Lansing Community College 
graduate.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 
Lehman Funeral Homes, Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. 
Bridge Street, Portland. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family 
will receive friends from 2 - 4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
