Cole-Hysell, 70, of Sheridan, passed away Monday, March 7, 2005, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids. She was born near Cedar Springs on Feb. 21, 1935, the daughter of Walter and Sylvia Robinson Cole. Joanne was a loving wife mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and helping others. She especially loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with them. She also enjoyed bowling and received many trophies with her bowling. She was a member of Shiloh Community Church and volunteered with the funeral luncheons and also was a volunteer at United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She also attended Congregational Church in Stanton. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Waldo and Robert G. Cole; and husband, Raymond E. Hysell, in 1983. She is survived by her children, Brenda and Mark Tomkinson of Greenville, Jan and Martin Watson, Craig and Tina Hysell, all of Keyser, W. Va., Tamie and Tom Benedict of Sheridan, Brad and Lisa Hysell of Rawlings, Md.; grandchildren, Tara, Brett, Rachel, Megan, Olivia, Chase, Alexis, Steven, Paige, Jessica, Scotty, Keagen, Jordan; sisters and brother, Barbara Schondelmayer of Wyoming, James and Shirley Cole of Cedar Springs, twin sister, Jane and Al Thomas of Gowen, Susan and Tim Walker of Cedar Springs; sister-in-law, Marie Cole of Jenison; many nieces and nephews; all her church friends; and special friend, Peggy Rowley. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh Community Church with the Revs. Ken Harger and Jamie Nichols officiating. Burial is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
