Coles, 67, died Monday morning in the Blodgett hospital in Grand Rapids, where he had been for the past two weeks receiving treatment for gallstones. Mr. Coles, a resident of Boston township since a small child, was born in New York state, and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Coles, to Boston township, where he had made his home his entire life except for a short time when he worked in Detroit. Mr. Coles had been most active in his school district and township. He had been for several years a member of the Gilbert school board and a member of the PTA. At the time of his death he was justice of the peace of Boston township and had held this position for many years. Besides community work he was an active member in the Congregational church, and a member of many musical circles. Mrs. Coles’ death occurred about 18 months ago. Surviving him …[missing line] … Farnhi, of South Boston; Mrs. Erma Pasanen and Mrs. Doris Gardner, of Detroit, and two sons, Hobard, of New York, and Stanley, of South Boston; a sister, Mrs. Blanch Silbert, who spends her summers in Boston and goes to Detroit during the winter.
