December 19, 2020 COLLEY Beulah Minnie Colley, age 97 of Ionia, MI, passed away December 9, 2020. She was born on December 20, 1922 in Montcalm County, MI the daughter of Merle and Mabel (Collins) Steele. Beulah graduated from Ionia High School in 1941. As a teenager she enjoyed 4-H club sewing-canning and also enjoyed roller-skating. She married Floyd "Bill" Colley on June 19, 1943. She was proud to be a cub scout den mother and also the editor of the monthly newsletters for both the Flat river and the horseless Carriage Club of Grand Rapids Antique Car Clubs. She was a member of Golden years Club, Flat River Antique Car Club, Grand Rapids Chapter of the Horseless Carriage Club and First Christian church of Muir. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. Beulah worked for AC Spark Pug, Fisher Body of Lansing, Ionia Manufacturing, Gibsons in Belding. She also owned an upholstery shop that she operated for several years. Even re-upholstering their 1910 Buick and their 1922 Dodge seats and making new tops for both. She enjoyed antique Car tours. She was a wonderful artist, poet and short story writer. Surviving Beulah are her daughters, Janice (Dewey) Burke of South Carolina and Vicki (Lee) Jockheck of Ionia. Daughter-in-laws Deb Bronson of Florida, Clara Lewis of Perrinton and Cheri Geirman of Florida. 16 grandchildren, 35 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Brother-in-law Howard Colley of Lyons. Sister-in-law Gladys Heald of Orleans and Lela Deal of Belding. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also survived by Kirby her best friends and faithful companion. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, sons Floyd Colley and Philip Colley, brother Jack Steele, sisters Vera Carr, Elaine (Peggy) Steele, Joyce lower, Evelyn Steele and Sue Herrick-Adgate Services will be held at a later date at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to Beulah Colley Creative Art Scholarship.
