The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, September 5, 1991

Mabel C. Collier, 81, of Ionia, died Wednesday at the Ionia County Memorial 
Hospital.  She was born the daughter of Howard and Estelle Hill on November 
21, 1909, in Cobden, Illinois.  She was married to Harry C. Collier in 1926.  
They lived most of their lives in Ionia.

She worked as an attendant t the Ionia State Hospital for 10 years.  She was 
employed as a line worked at General Tire in Ionia for about 20 years.

She is survived by one son Jack of Ionia; one daughter, Betty Lance of 
Belding; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and 
cousins; one brother Hurbert Hill and one sister Vivion Basler, both of 
Illinois; she  was preceded in death by her husband Harry C. on April 5, 1960.

A private funeral service is planned.  A memorial has been established for the 
American Cancer Association, in care of the Cook Funeral Home of Ionia.
