Collins, aged 79, died early Tuesday morning in the city hospital from a complication of ailments. She had been making her home with her foster daughter, Mrs. John Slosser of Cook’s Corners and had entered the hospital for treatment Saturday. Mrs. Collins was born in New York state and was a teacher in the Michigan public schools for many years. She had resided in Rose City for some time and her last employment was in an Eaton Rapids school. Five years ago at the age of 74, she retired and came to live at the Slosser home. Surviving besides Mrs. Slosser is a half sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Buck, of Detroit; a step-son, Charles Collins, of Flint, and two grandchildren. The husband preceded her in death about 19 years ago. Funeral services will be conducted at the Slosser residence at Cook’s Corners Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. F. Don Crabb will officiate and burial will be in Otisco cemetery.
