Ionia County News-Thurs. Oct. 22, 1959

ERNEST L. COLLINS
Ernest L. Collins, 65, of Irving and former Lake Odessa resident, died Friday
afternoon at the McDowell Nursing home at Hastings after a long illness. He was born in Barry
county the son of Harvey and Edna McGowan Collins but resided in the local area before
moving to the Irving area several years ago. He was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Waneta) Russell of Hastings; three sisters;
Mrs. John (Mary) Waldren of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Tom (Bessie) Richey of Hastings and Mrs.
Jack (Gertrude) Stratton of Middleville; three brothers Elmer and Leon of Lake Odessa and
Forest of Irving and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Leonard funeral home at Hastings
with burial at Riverside cemetery.
