  Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

     CLARE RICHARD COLWELL

Died July 28, 2025 - age 72 of Ionia
BornMay 12, 1953 in Grand Rapids, :MI, son of Clarence George & Viva Dolores 
(Freer) Colwell.
Graduated from Ionia High School in Class of 1971.
Received her Bachelors's at Davenport College, then Master's degree in Finance 
from Western Michigan University.
Clare married Barbara J. Kilduff on March 31, 1979 at Shiloh Church.
Clare worked in the Banking Industry for 40 years & after retiring worked for 
Lakewood Community Schools for 5 years as a Finance Director.
He was currently serving as the Orleans Township Supervisor.
Clare loved woodworking, golfing & reading WW II history.
Family was everything to Clare & he will be missed by them.
Surviving is his wife, Barb Colwell of Orleans, children, David Colwell of 
Garden City, Diane (Nick) Parker of Gaylord & Christopher "topher"(Charlene) 
Colwell of Holland.
Grandchildren,Jackson Parker, Ryan Parker, Riley Colwell, Cameron Colwell, 
Emerson Colwell & Barrett Colwell.
Preceded in death by his parents & brother Ray Colwell.
Cremation has taken place & a Memorial Visitation will be a the Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia on Monday, August 4, 4-7 p.m.
A Celebration Luncheon will be at Steele Street Hall, 115 S.Steele St,Ionia,MI 
on Tuesday, August 5 at 1:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Free Fair.
