Saginaw, Grand Ledge, died at his home Monday afternoon after an extended illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1907 in Lost Creek, Ky., the son of Felix and Lily Bell Gibson Combs. He attended Blue Diamond Schools. He was married to Gertrude Daniel May 12, 1924, in Hazard, Ky., and was employed by the Harvey Coal Co. for 33 years. He and his family moved to Grand Ledge in 1954 and he was employed by Keeler Brass Co. in Lake Odessa for seven years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Grand Ledge. He is survived by his wife Gertrude; three sons, Burl and Jim of Grand Ledge and Bill of Lake Odessa; three daughters, Mrs. John (Margie) Stidham and Mrs. Lester (Shirley) Quigley of Lake Odessa and Della Combs of Lansing; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One brother, William of Hazard, Ky., also survives. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from Pickens-Koops Funereal Chapel in Lake Odessa, the Rev. Douglas Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
