A short prayer meeting was held at the home in Fenwick, preceding the funeral services. The Rev. Broxholm of the Methodist church at Palo officiated. Pallbearers were William Jeffries, Len Warren, Fred Minier, William Carpenter, Carl Wingeier and Donald Fancett, all neighbors of the deceased. Music was in charge of the Methodist choir composed of Mrs. Charles Buckley, Mrs. Guy Comstock and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clark. Those who attended from Away were Mr.and Mrs. Archie Comer of Elm Hall Mr. and Mrs. Earl Doan of Remus, Mr. and Mrs. James Ranger of Carson City, Mr. and Mrs. Jelo N. Rice and Mr. and Mrs. George Comer of Ionia. Mr. and Mrs. Melton Rice of DeWitt, Mrs. Glenn Rice of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greenhoe of Fenwick, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Smith, Mrs. G Rice, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Windsor and Mr. and Mrs. William Windsor of Maple Rapids and Ralph Ives of Perrinton. Additional Comments: From the Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard May 16, 1938: Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah E. Conner, Route 2, Fenwick, will be held at the Palo Methodist Episcopal church Wednesday afternoon May 18, at 2 o'clock with interment in the Palo cemetery. Mrs. Conner died at the University of Michigan hospital at Ann Arbor Monday morning, May 16, at 5 o'clock. She had been a patient there several days. Survivors beside her husband are four children, Russell, Donald and Harold all at home and a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Hilem of Palo.
