Gerald D. Comer, 90, of Belding, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Masonic 
Pathways in Alma. Gerald was born on October 10, 1913 in Palo to George and 
Nellie Beach Comer Sr. 

He was raised in the Ionia area and graduated from Ionia High School class of 
1931. He was employed for more than 28 years as an engineer at General Motors 
and was a member of the Belding Masonic Lodge.

Gerald is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Daryl DeMott of 
Ft. Myers, FL.; one step daughter and her husband, Pam and Steve Smith of 
Beverly Hills; one niece and her husband, Bonnie and Jim Miller; and sister-in-
law, Eleanor Reed.  Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, 
Marilyn, three brothers, George Jr., Alden, and Meryl Comer. His many hobbies 
include golfing, computers, writing, and fixing electrical things. 

There are no services for Gerald and the family is being served by The Huffman-
Brigham Funeral Chapel in Belding.
