Compton, 84, of Sunfield. Rev. Don Carrick officiated at services, and burial was in Danby cemetery. Mr. Compton passed away last Thursday afternoon at the home of his son, Earl Compton, in Grand Ledge, after an illness of several months. He was born in Danby township Dec. 19, 1868, the son of Phillip and Rozella Compton. A farmer, the deceased had spent his entire lifetime in this area. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Peabody, of Sunfield and Mrs. Mildred Linhart, of Lake Odessa; two sons, Forest, of Lake Odessa and Earl, of Grand Ledge. There is a brother, Charles, of Mulliken, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His wife, G. Pearl, preceded him in death in 1949, and a son, Oliver, died in infancy.
