Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. July 9, 1979


PORTLAND- Mrs. Delora Compton, 94, died Saturday at the Veterans Facility in 
Grand Rapids. she was born July 20, 1884 in Shelby, the daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. Abraham Bearss. 

She was a life-member of Portland Chapter 258 OES and was also a member of the 
Spanish American War Veterans Auxiliary.

She is survived by one niece, Mrs. A. Butler of Stoney Lake.

Graveside services will be at the Portland Cemetery, Tuesday at 11 a.m. pastor 
Dow Chamberlain of the Portland United Methodist Church will officiate.

Arrangements were made by the Neller Funeral Home in Portland.
