Mrs. Elizabeth Compton of near Smyrna, died Friday, October 14 at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Glen Weeks of Saranac after a six months illness.  She was
born December 27, 1883 in Ionia County, the daughter of Karl and Wilhelmina
Hauserman and had lived in this county throughout her entire life.  She married
Eber Compton in November, 1903 and he passed away in 1928.

Mrs. Compton was a member of the Smyrna Maccabees and the V.F.W. Auxiliary in
this city.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Ethel) Weeks of Saranac and Mrs.
Vernis (Fern) DeGroote and one son, Clair, Whites Bridge Road; one sister, Mrs.
Louise Compton, Saranac; three grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday at 2:00 o’clock at Ellis Funeral Home, Rev.
H. S. Ellis officiating and burial was in the Marble cemetery.
