Belding Banner - Wednesday April 10, 1974

                              CLAIR E. COMPTON

Funeral services were held Sunday for Clair E.Compton, 63, of rural Belding at 
Huffman Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Harger and Belding Lodge 355, F&AM 
officiating. Burial was in Keene cemetery. Mr.Compton died April 4 at Ionia 
County Memorial Hospital.

A retired Bricker Lumber Company employee, he was born in Otisco Township July 
16, 1910 the son of Eber and Elizabeth Hausserman Compton.

Mr.Compton saw overseas duty in World Wr II and is a member of the Veterans of 
Foreign Wars and Belding Lodge 355, F&AM.

He is survived by a sister,Mrs.Fern DeGroote of Lake Odessa.
