Ionia Daily Standard, 7 Apr 1899

Douglass, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Comstock died quite unexpectedly
at 2:30 this afternoon.  He had been ill only since yesterday.  He was
approaching his 18th birthday, and was too bright a boy to die thus early.  With
the death of her father, which occurred last night, surely Mrs. Comstock has her
cup full of grief.

[Transcriber’s note:  There are notations on the obituary card that he was the
son of Bayard L. and Sarah (Ward) Comstock, and was buried in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery.]
