Mrs. Comstock was a good neighbor and friend, especially so to any one sick, in need or trouble. She knew the hardships of pioneer life and reared eight children to manhood and womanhood, all of whom survive her. They are: Ben, who lived with his mother; Egbert, of Shiloh; Bert, of Sears; William, of Detroit; Fred, of Chicago; Frank, of Saugatuck; Mrs. Marie Mogan, of Evart and Mrs. Maude Hoppough of Orleans. Many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Shiloh church, Rev. Stewart of Ionia officiating. Bearers were relatives. Burial was in the mausoleum at Belding. The funeral for Mrs. Comstock was one of the largest ever held in this locality. The church was filled and extra seats were placed in the back and aisles.
