Mrs. George Comstock, 88, died at 4:35 Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 26, of 
injuries sustained last Saturday when she fell and broke her hip.  Born Jennie 
Corlis, at Carson City, July 27, 1859, she was the daughter of Joseph and 
Cornelius Corlis.  In 1878 she was married to Edwin Steadman of Crystal.  One 
daughter, Mrs. William Erridge, now of South Ionia, was born to them.  Mr. 
Steadman died in 1883.

Two years later, in 1885, she was married to George Comstock, at Britton, 
South Dakota.  They returned to Ionia to live in 1897.  Two years ago, in 
1945, Mr. and Mrs. Comstock celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.

Surviving Mrs. Comstock are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Erridge and Mrs. 
Mabel Eddy, Ionia; two grandchildren, Corlis Eddy, Fredonia, N.Y., and Helen 
Eddy, Ionia.

Rev. Wayne Davis will officiate at the funeral service, which will be from 
Boynton’s at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, March 1.
