Lived On Same Farm 40 Years. Mrs. Maria Condon, aged eighty-four years, died Saturday evening, September 8, 1917 from heart trouble after a half hours illness, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Keller in Greenville. The remains were conveyed that same evening to her late home near Smyrna, where funeral services conducted by Rev. A.J. Blair, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. The interment was made in Smyrna cemetery by the side of her husband, Samuel D. Condon, who passed away eight years ago last February 8. Mrs. Condon was born near Brantford, Ont., Canada, November 22, 1833. There he days were passed until some years after her marriage to Mr. Condon. They came to Michigan about fifty-eight years ago and settled in Vergennes township, where they resided until about forty years ago, when they moved to the farm in Otisco township where the remainder of their days were passed. There their family of children grew to man and womanhood and went from the parental roof to homes of their own. After the death of Mr. Condon, her son, Charles and family came to look after the old farm home and relieve the mother of its care and she passed the rest of her days a loved and honored guest in the homes of her children. Of a genial, happy disposition she had many friends who loved her dearly. Just to know her was to love her. The surviving children are: Mrs. S.D. Swain, whose home is in California, Mrs. Jennie Tillotson and Edgar Condon, of Otisco, Mrs. Bertha Buck, of Montana, Mrs. Geo. Keller of Greenville, Elgin W. Condon of Smyrna and Charles Condon, who resides at the old homestead. Mrs. Condon was an honored member of the Smyrna Ladies of the Maccabees.
