Clare R. Confer, 83, of Charleston, Ark., died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009 in
Charleston.  He was born Oct. 30. 1926 in Muir.  He was a retired owner of Muir
Hardware Store in Muir for over 40 years, a navy veteran of World War II, a
member of Lyons-Muir VFW Post 4646, a past council member for the village of
Muir, served on the volunteer fire department and he was of the Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by three daughters: Candace (Ronald) Hyland of Portland,
Constance Confer of Harrison and Cynthia (Terry) Bowman of Charleston, Ark.;
grandchildren: DeCee Schluterman of Prairie Grove, Ark., Cole Bowman of Paris,
Ark., Danielle Klein of Oldsmar, Fla. and Camden Cummings of Palm Harbor, Fla.;
and four great-grandchildren.  Clare was preceded in death by his parents, Ross
and Esther Confer; wife, Boneta Confer and sister, June Benner.

Cremation arrangements are under the directions of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
 Memorials may be sent to Peachtree Hospice, 4300 Rogers Avenue, Suite 33, Fort
Smith AR 72903.
