He had been in failing health for some time, and was recently treated at the Greenville Memorial hospital. Mr Conkey was born on the farm where he died, and was the son of the late Eli and Myra Conkey. He took an active part in the community life of his neighborhood, was a member of the Orleans Methodist church and of the Palo Masonic lodge. Funeral services were held from the Fales-Huffman funeral home in Belding Monday at 2 o'clock. Rev. Thomas Rice, former local and Orleans minister, now located at Schoolcraft, preached the funeral sermon. The burial was in the Woodard Lake cemetery. Surviving besides the widow, Mrs Myrtle Conkey, are three nieces and a nephew, Mrs Emaline Smith of Woodard Lake, Mrs. Ma___ Stoddard of Orleans, Mrs Edgar Garrard of Arizona, and Albert Conkey in New Hampshire."
