The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, September 21, 1974

Mrs. Leona K. Conklin, 71, of 5645 Belding road, Belding, died Friday morning 
at Belding Community hospital.  Born in Grattan township, Kent county, March 
19, 1903, she was the daughter of Phin and Lucy Tuthill.  Her husband Claude 
Conklin died in 1969.  She was a member of the Women of the Moose lodge of 
Ionia.

Among her survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Doris Christensen of route 2, 
Belding, and Mrs. Nola Comer of Ionia, foster son, LaVerne Bakelaar of 
Edwards; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three sisters, 
Mrs. Leona Dickson Smith of Grattan, Mrs. Norma Russell of Owosso, Mrs. Louise 
Kaulfan of Grand Rapids, a brother, Donald Tuthill of Belding.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.. at the Huffman funeral home in 
Belding.  Rev. Richard Bayles will officiate and interment will be in Easton 
cemetery.
