The Ionia County News, Thursday, February 21, 1924


The funeral of Mrs. Mary Conklin, 68, Yeomans street, who died suddenly at 
Grand Rapids last Sunday, was held from the Church of Christ this afternoon 
(Thursday) at 2 o’clock.  A short service was held previous to that at the 
Bradley & Sparks undertaking parlors.

Mrs. Conklin had been practically a life-long resident of Ionia.  She was a 
member of the Lady Maccabees, Royal Neighbors and the Women’s Relief Corps.

She is survived by one son, Frank Conklin of Ionia; one brother, Bert Kanouse, 
of Ionia; one sister, Mrs. Edward Simmons, of Grand Rapids, and a mother, Mrs. 
Dehlia Kanouse, of Ionia.

Rev. M. S. Decker, pastor of the Church of Christ, conducted the service.
