Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 3 Sep 1960

Fred C. Conklin, 85, of 341 Webster street, was found dead Friday morning by
Fred Miller who came to visit him.  Mr. Conklin had last been seen about 5:45
a.m. by Roy Anderson.  Investigating officers were Ralph Johnson of the
sheriff’s office, Clarence Aldrich and Robert Hoppough, city police and Coroner
Dale Kauffman.

Mr. Conklin was born July 31, 1875 and had been a lifelong resident of Ionia. 
He had lived at his present residence 43 years.  He was the son of John and Mary
Conklin.

Surviving is a son, Frank of Grand Rapids.

Funeral service will be conducted at Stone-Kauffman funeral home Tuesday at 11
a.m. with burial at Oak Hill cemetery.
