Rev. John Cornelius of Lakeview, a former pastor officiated assisted by Rev. Robert Bennett, Sheridan, the present pastor The music was by Mrs. Ronald Banton of Muir, and Mrs. Lawrence Pitcher with Mrs. Earl Roth accompanying. Interment was at Vickeryville cemetery which was at one time a part of the old Conklin homestead. Bearers were from the younger friends, Richard Carter, Harold Long, John Lamb, Keith Wolverton, Donald Heacox and Irwin Clark. Surviving Mr. Conklin are the widow, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Miller of Stanton, Mrs. Guy Weeks of Edmore and Mrs. G.H. Williams of Bay City; two brothers, Don of San Francisco and Roscoe of Stanton, and Tiovo Conklin who had lived at the Conklin home since he was a small boy and was regarded as a son. A sister, Mrs. Verne Phillips died June 16. Mr. Conklin was one of ten children of Egbert S. and Mary A. Conklin, and was born August 12, 1878 in Bushnell township. He was known as a good conscientious neighbor and friend always ready with a cheering word and helping hand for anyone in need of advice or assistance. Even when he suffered intense pain he was ready with a smile and a joke.
