Portland Observer, 16 Aug 1934

Charles W. Conkrite, 81 years of age Tuesday, died early Wednesday morning at 
his home near Sebewa Corners following a stroke suffered on Thursday of last 
week.  Funeral services will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 2:30, in 
charge of Rev. Thompson, of Woodbury.  Burial will be made in Danby cemetery.

Mr. Conkrite was one of the few remaining pioneers of this vicinity.  He was 
born in Danby and had spent his entire lifetime in that neighborhood.  His wife 
passed away last January.  He is survived by one daughter, Miss Fern Conkrite, 
his only child.
