Bennie was born in Magoffin County, Ky., on Nov. 26, 1914, to John and Nancy Bailey Conley. He married Edith Hale of Dec. 7, 1942, and moved to Lake Odessa with his family in 1947. He was a lifelong farmer in the Lake Odessa area. Bennie was preceded in death by his parents; son, J.B. Conley; son-in-law, Brock Paxton; and all his brothers and sisters. He is survived by Edith, his wife of 61 years; children, Ellis and Dixie Conley of Ionia, Earl and Erika Conley of Portland, Hazel Paxton of Woodland, Roger Conley, Wayne Conley, both of Lake Odessa; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. The funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday at Koops Funeral chapel, Lake Odessa. Burial is in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to the Ionia County commission on Aging.
