He was born October 4, 1938 in Knott County Kentucky and was the son of Jesse and Gracie (Sawyer) Conley. Glenn married Janet Padgett on May 4, 1957 at First Christian Church in Ionia. He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Newport News from 1958- 1962, and two years as a reserve. He received several good conduct medals during his service. He is a life member of VFW Post 4406 in Belding after 44 years of service. Glenn volunteered as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for several years, and also as a little league baseball coach. He was an avid fisherman, and also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his son, Warren (Sharon) Conley of Ionia; his daughter, Valerie (Glen) Ockert of Belding; and grandchildren, Kiel Conley and Christina Ockert. Also surviving are his brother David (Stella) Conley; sisters, Donna Kuney and Alma (Donald) Jones; and a brother-in-law, Richard McNall as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jesse Conley and a sister, Gail (Conley) McNall. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Easton Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac Thursday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia County Memorial Hospital.
