Voelker Conner, 76, of 806 West Main died unexpectedly Saturday at her home. Born November 15, 1896, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Voelker. She was a graduate of Ionia high school in the class of 1916 and taught school a short time in Owosso. She was a member of First United Methodist church. June of 1921 she was married to Lawrence Conner, who died July 7, 1972. She and her husband were owners and operators of Conner Auto Supply and Furniture stores in Ionia and a store in Belding. Surviving are a son, Tom Conner of Ionia; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home. Rev. Charles Fullmer will officiate and interment will be at Balcom cemetery. A memorial has been established for the pulmonary cardiac fund of Ionia County Memorial hospital. Family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, December 7, 1972 Services for Mrs. Lona E. Conner, 76, of West Main were conducted by Rev. Charles Fullmer of First United Methodist church at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Bearers were Leslie Sykes, Larry Hopkins, Harry Simmons, Ford Mason, Orville Hartman and Victor Eckers. Employees of Connor’s Auto Supply and Conner’s Furniture attended services in a group. Burial was in Balcom cemetery.
