Ionia Sentinel Standard – 28 January 1963
William Brunson Conner, 90, a lifelong resident of Ionia County, died at a 
convalescent home Monday morning.  He was a retired grocer having operated 
stores at Shiloh, Ionia, Dildine corners and 20 years at Belding.  He was 
married October 1, 1939 to Altha Vohler and had resided at his present 
residence at 1063 West Main Street the past 17 years.  Mr. Conner was born 
November 7, 1872 in Easton Township, the son of William H. and Mary Conner.  
He was a member of First Christian church of Ionia and a life member of 
Belding Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Altha, three stepdaughters, Mrs. Michael Brindle of 
Ionia, Mrs. Grace Niles of Detroit, and Mrs. Lylia Johnson of Lowell; five 
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Waters of 
Easton Township.  Funeral service will be conducted at Stone Kauffman Funeral 
Home Wednesday at 2 pm.  The Rev. Floyd Emshwiller, pastor of First Christian 
church will officiate and entombment will be at Belding mausoleum.

Funeral service for William Brunson Conner, 90, was held Wednesday afternoon.  
He died January 28.  The Rev. Floyd Emshwiller of First Christian church 
officiated and interment was at River Ridge mausoleum at Belding.  Bearers 
were Michael E. Brindle, James L. Johnson, Edward Boyd, Royce Waters, Arthur 
Haynor and Vern Haynor.  Attending from out of town were Mrs. Grace Niles of 
Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Gene Niles and Lynn of Plymouth, Mrs. Stanley Nichols of 
Lansing, Mrs. Lylia Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Boyd of Lowell, Mr. and 
Mrs. L. A. Campbell of Kalamazoo, James Johnson of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Evart 
Bowerman of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Louis Fabian of Clare, Mrs. Huber Guernsey of 
Greenville and Mrs. Beurl Guernsey of Gowen.
